National PArks

Sequoia National Park

Trees.  Giant sequoia trees.  I mean really, really, huge trees.

Yosemite National Park

Beautiful granite cliffs and waterfalls made famous by Ansel Adams.  I was ready to scale El Capitan but my wife said “no”.  [whew]

Bryce Canyon

Not really a canyon, Bryce is located in southeastern Utah. The strange rock formations are called hoodoos and are spectacular in reds, yellows and oranges.

Grand Canyon

This trip was to the lesser visited north rim where the crowds are fewer and the views are spectacular.

Alcatraz Island

Located In San Francisco Bay, this island harbors one of the most famous US federal prisons.  Still has signs of the 1969 American Indian occupation.  A must see.

Arches National Park

Just north of Moab, Utah, this park is home to thousands of sandstone arches (hence, the name).  Photos are from a visit made in June 2018
